Who is Equity Entrepreneur®?

Our philosophy is that

Success = Skill + Intelligence + Knowledge + Experience

Private equity investing can be profitable, and fun.
Equity Entrepreneur® helps investors get more Reward for less Risk: it has developed a unique method to assist with risk assessment and reduction for both business and portfolio analysis. This stands alone, or is (more easily!) supported by a proprietary software toolkit.

Equity Entrepreneur® encourages and supports Business Angel investing, and provides a central Forum for anyone and everyone who wishes to contribute to and/or gain from increased activity and success in this sector.

Equity Entrepreneur® was formed to act as a resource and to cater for the needs of the Private Investment sector – those seeking funding, those investing, and those advising both. Raising money, or putting money into a start up or early stage opportunity, is not for the faint hearted. Of course there are hopes that the business will fly and make everyone a fortune, and it certainly can happen. But that does nothing to mitigate the risk – more businesses fail than succeed; and even if they are successful, getting money out of an unquoted company can be extremely difficult.

What does Equity Entrepreneur® do?

Have you ever wondered what is the difference between an Entrepreneur and a Private Equity Investor? So have we – and besides the size of bank balance, we couldn’t come up with a sensible distinction either!

Our philosophy is that:

Success = Skill + Intelligence + Knowledge + Experience

And we act as a central resource, aiming to provide Knowledge and Experience by arranging:

Getting More Reward for Less Risk

There are two main avenues open to Equity Entrepreneur® to promote and enhance successful entrepreneurial and business angel activity.

A principal way is helping entrepreneurs produce quality deal flow. By encouraging entrepreneurs and Business Consultants to attend the Equity Entrepreneur® workshops and by introducing them to the microFunding® Exchange process, entrepreneurs are helped to create better, better managed and better presented opportunities to investors.

Equity Entrepreneur® also introduces Investors to the microFunding® Exchange. Every investor would like to cut his risks and maximise the rewards, and while microFunding® can't guarantee there are no risks, or high rewards it certainly does help.

microFunding® gives Investors the comfort of knowing that the ‘risk-reward’ profile of microFunding® investments is substantially improved by the nature of the process.

Equity Entrepreneur® also runs three workshops, which are aimed at investors and use the input of entrepreneurs to add extra dimensions of reality and relevance.

The first Equity Entrepreneur® Workshop – ‘Starting Out’ - is an introduction to Business Angel investing. It is held at convenient times and locations and takes a maximum of 1½ hours. The introduction is very broad based, emphasising the following aspects: Fun, Profitability, Tax advantages, the Cooperative nature of successful investing, and that anyone can join in if they qualify as HNW/Sophisticated with genuine ‘losable’ money. They always involve a very simplified case study (with prizes!)

Every potential investor attending these Introductions receives a follow up courtesy call for feedback and to test their enthusiasm for further Equity Entrepreneur® workshops.

The next Workshop ‘Getting In’ provides a deep insight into investment strategies, using a variety of real case studies in a non-threatening way. Genuine entrepreneurs attend the day, adding their input and experiences to those of investors to create a broad range of highly relevant and useful dialogues. Each Workshop concludes with presentations form various local Business Angel Networks and Clubs. An experienced investor ‘mentor’ is allocated to each attender, whose role it is to follow up the workshops and offer a 1-1 meeting to iron out any questions arising.

The Workshops are followed by club, network or syndicate meetings – it’s entirely up to each individual to decide, but the choice is made available. While attendance at these meetings is entirely voluntary, the mentors are members and the meetings focus on real deal flow, live presentations and discussions – so they are very involving and great fun. Deal flow will be from the whole range of local Business Angel networks with emphasis on collaborative investigations and investment, and active investment is neither encouraged nor discouraged.

Finally, the last Workshop is called ‘Getting Out’ – for very obvious reasons. It helps guide Business Angels towards a risk management strategy that maximises cash profits in the shortest practicable time. Where ‘Starting Out’ is aimed at everyone with any passing interest in the subject, and ‘Getting In’ assists investors to create profitable deals and portfolios, ‘Getting Out’ goes straight for the hot spot. Making cash profits. And it does so in a highly entertaining and engaging way.
